  1. Cartier was most definatly not seccessful in reaching all of his goals. Cartier didnt reach all 3 of his goals, and him and his crew didnt prepare themselves for the weather conditions. Also Cartier turned back when he saw the rough waters.
Cartier didnt reach 3 of his goals, infact he only reached 1 goal. ( ie he did not reach the sea of Asia also the golds and riches that he found were fake ).
Cartier and his crew got sick with scurvy they were not well prepared for the crazy cold and the harsh weather. Cartier was going through the st. Lawrence river when he saaw the fast flowing rapid he turned back and sailes back to France. Therfor Jaques Cartier was not successful in reaching all of his goals.

  2. jaque cartiers sucsses
Yes Jaque Cartier was deffinetly sucssesful for the following reasons Jauque cartier discouverd a lot of gold, land and riches, kings only let exploers on another voyage if the last was sucssesful,he was not the only one to have a hard time to find a faster route to Asia. He did not acomplish all of his goals but he did discouver the St Lawrence river. He traveled straight through Bell Isle. He dscouverd land gold and riches. He acomplished more then he wanted to just not to find the north west passage. A lot of exploers had a hard time finding the Northwest passage not only him for. Jhon Cabot, Chrisipher Columbus did not find the Northwest passage. If he was not sucsseful on the second or first voyage he could not have gone on a third or second voyage because the king only alous exploers to go on third, second or fourth voyages. If they were sucssesful in the first voyage. This clearly states that Jaque Cartier was deffinetly sucssesful. Coco

  3. Cartier was not very successful at all. His 3 goals were to travel through the straight of Belle Isle, go through the sea of Asia and discover land rich in gold and other valuable things. According to my "Canada Revisited" textbook, he only ever accomplished one of his three goals. He went through the straight of Belle Isle, but failed to go through the sea of Asia and the gold and the jewels he brought back were worthless. Cartier's crew became terribly ill with scurvy and many died. Also, when Cartier was going through the St. Lawrence River, he met with rapids which made him turn around. This probably stopped him from being able to go through the sea of Asia. This is why I think Jaques Cartier could not be classifyed as "successful" based on his 3 voyages.

  4. CARTIER
Jacques Cartier made 3 voyages to North America in hopes of reaching his goals and becoming richer. His voyages were not successful because he failed to reach his goals. He was unable to reach the Sea of Asia, he did not create a good relationship with the First Nations people and he failed to get the riches he sought.

Cartier was not able to reach the Sea of Asia in any of his three voyages. He was not able to find a way to Asia because he took the St. Lawrence River, and the water was moving too fast. The moving water stopped him because it would have broken his boat. “Where the stream is obstructed” (172, Gibbs). This quote is saying that the river is blocking anything from moving by.

Cartier did not have a good relationship with the First Nations because Cartier kidnapped the chief of the first nation’s son. The First Nations people could have helped Cartier complete his goals if they had liked or trusted Cartier. They could have shown Cartier the way across the land to Asia or helped him to find riches in the new land. His actions made the First Nations people not trust him or want to help him in any way.

Cartier also failed because he was never able to find the riches he came looking for in North America. Cartier was looking for gold, but he only found fool’s gold. Cartier looked for the riches in all of his voyages. The king refused to fund Cartier another voyage because the king thought Cartier was a failure
Cartier died without reaching any of his goals. He did not find any riches, or a route to Asia and he created a bad relationship with the First Nations people which could have helped him. Because of this, his voyages to North America were unsuccessful.

  5. Jacques Cartier’s voyage
No, Jacques Cartier was not successful in his three voyages. In order for Jacques Cartier to be successful he would have had to achieve all of his three goals. His three goals or missions for his voyages were to firstly sail to Asia. Also another goal was to bring back gold and riches to France, and finally to sail through Belle Isle. He only succeeded in one. And he was unaware of it.

One of Cartier’s goals was to sail through the sea of Asia. Along with many other explorers he tried and failed. In his journeys Jacques Cartier actually believed that he was sailing through a direct passage to Asia. This passage was actually Belle Isle. So Cartier’s did succeed in one goal, to sail through Belle isle. However he was unaware of it at the time believing that he was on his way to Asia. Jacques Cartier’s second goal was to bring back gold and riches which he did not succeed in. Once again Jacques Cartier believed that he had achieved this goal. However later on he realized that the gold and jewels that he had collected were completely worthless. Once again he had failed another goal.

In conclusion Jacques Cartier was not successful in his three voyages completing his three goals. He did not sail through the sea of Asia. He was unaware that he sailed through Belle Isle, and finally did not find and bring back gold and riches.

  6. Jaques Cartier, was most definitely a successful explorer. He accomplished a hard goal, found new land and was the first european to travel the st. Lawrence river.

Jaques achieved a goal that must have been extremely hard to accomplish back then. He traveled up the strait of Belle Isle, this was one of his goals. Some say he wasn’t successful as he did not accomplish all three of his goals. But Cartier was traveling very far, over seas with no breaks and through the cold harsh winters, and wet and freezing storms. This was very hard to do, and he did travel up the isle. He fought through the sea and made that goal come true.

Also Cartier found a new land. This may not seem as amazing but he did accomplish it. We think well lots of explorers went places, but cartier found a place that maybe, without him going there would have never been found, and France may have never known about North America. Without Cartier we may have found North America thousands of years later. Or worse. Never have found it. This shows how Cartier did an amazing thing for France and North America.

Did you know Jaques Cartier was the first european to travel through the St. Lawrence river? Well he was. He traveled through there, and helped many other explorers that wanted to come to the “new world”.Now they could use this easy passage to get to the lands. This is stated in the the quote “He was the first european to explore the St. Lawrence river”(179,Gibbs) This showed how amazing his discovery was.

These three reasons -and there are still many more- show how Cartier was obviously a extremely successful explorer, and was a leader to. He became a well known explorer, and an inspirer for others. Jaques cartier, was a explorer, a very successful one too.

  7. Jacques Cartier

No, Cartier was not successful on his voyages. There are three reasons for this. They are as follows. One, he did not complete all of the3 goals he set out, two, he had a bad relationship with the Aboriginals and three, he returned to France with fake gold and diamonds with him.

The first reason why Cartier wasn’t successful is as follows; He did not complete all of his goals. Cartier’s three goals were to 1, Travel through the strait of Belle, 2, travel to the sea of Asia, and 3, discover lands in rich in gold and other precious things. He had only completed one of his goals. He was only able to travel through the Straight of Belle.

The second reason why Cartier wasn’t successful is because he had a bad relationship with the Aboriginals. He had a bad relationship with them because he had abducted the two sons of the Aboriginal chief, and had brought them back to France with him. This was bad because the Aboriginal people were trading with the French.

The third reason why Cartier wasn’t successful is because when Cartier returned to France he brought fake diamonds and gold withhim.
This was bad because one of his goals were to find a land in rich in gold and other precious things.

The above three reasons are the reasons why I think Jacques Cartier was not successful on his voyages.

  8. Jacques Cartier was not successful in his three journeys because first of all he did not complete all his goals he only completed 1.5 of 3 goals. 2 he was sent to go to
Asia by sailing through the st Lawrence river but rapids made him not able to travel any further which means he
failed. 3 he was also sent to find and bring back
riches to France but in the end he brought back fake
    gold and diamonds.

for these 3 reasons: 1. not completing all his goals
    2. not making it to Asia and 3. not bringing back riches. Jacques Cartier was not successful.

  9. Jacques Cartier Paragraph
Jacques Cartier was not successful on his 3 voyages because he only got one of his goals completed. His three goals were: Sail to the sea of Asia (Fail), Find riches from the new land (Fail) and go through the Strait of Belle (Complete).
In his first goal (Sail to the sea of Asia) he did not complete because he did not get to Asia or the sea of Asia. Instead he went though the straight of Belle (which was his third goal) and he did not even know about it! Also he did not find riches because the gold turned out to be Iron pyrites and the diamonds turned out to be quartz crystals.
Therefore Jacques Cartier was not successful on his 3 voyages because he only completed one out of his three goals: to go through the Strait of Belle.
